From the Galeries Lafayette in Paris to the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok, traveler sanctuaries are feeling the lack of Chinese visitors, who typically would be flooding the world throughout this Lunar New Year.

Ananta Warisnaratorn, 43, offers flowers outside the shrine, where Chinese come to pray. “Usually we will invite over 100 buses of Chinese tourists, the shrine is crowded, and travelers are overflowing the walkway,” she stated. “Now it’s empty.”
