The Wuhan coronavirus has formally infected every region in China

The deadly coronavirus that stemmed in Wuhan, China, has formally spread out to every region of the country.

As of Thursday at least 170 people had died from the infection, all of them in China.

The map below, produced by Johns Hopkins University, reveals China, with each red dot representing an area that has reported cases of the infection.

The infection, which originated in the central city of Wuhan in early December, has spread rapidly in the past couple of weeks.

There are confirmed cases in Qinghai, Xinjiang, and Tibet, the three most remote areas in the nation.

The coronavirus had actually stayed largely in Wuhan, its province Hubei, and other surrounding provinces in main China. Of the confirmed cases of the infection, more than 4,500– or about 60%– remain in Hubei province.

But it has spread out rapidly over the past two weeks thanks in part to the mass travel performed by countless citizens in the run-up to the Lunar New Year, which happened Saturday.

On Wednesday, the NHC verified that the variety of validated cases of the Wuhan coronavirus in mainland China officially eclipsed the variety of SARS cases in the mainland during its 2002-2003 break out.

The variety of SARS cases on the mainland topped out at 5,327, though there were close to 8,100 cases of SARS internationally throughout the epidemic.

China is taking aggressive steps to attempt to prevent the infection from dispersing, including quarantining Wuhan and numerous other cities in Hubei province and looking for to build 2 brand-new hospitals in Wuhan in under a week
