Bombardier’s Crisis Shows How Company Isn’t Everything About Product

Previous Ford and Chrysler executive Lee Iacocca when said that “when the product is right, you don’t need to be an excellent marketer.” Bombardier’s downward spiral suggests otherwise.

On Tuesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Canadian producer remains in talks to offer its business-jet division to Textron, the current market leader thanks to its historic Cessna brand name. Bombardier is also seeking to offer its rail system to either France’s Alstom or Japan’s Hitachi.
