Credit Suisse Group AG Chief Executive Tidjane Thiam is leaving the Swiss bank, catching pressure over a spying scandal that has swallowed up the lender.
Hired in 2015 as a banking industry outsider to shock Credit Suisse, Mr. Thiam will leave next week. He will be changed by veteran Swiss banker Thomas Gottstein, suggesting a return to the bank’s roots after 20 years of American and French CEOs. Mr. Thiam, 57, was born in Ivory Coast and is a French nationwide.
