A rally in U.S. stocks stopped briefly Thursday after a spike in the variety of brand-new coronavirus cases in the Chinese province at the epicenter of a global outbreak.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 39 points, or 0.1%, to 29512, retreating from a record set the prior day. The S&P 500 included 0.1%and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.2%.
