Harley-Davidson Inc.’s Chief Executive Matt Levatich resigned Friday, leaving the motorcycle maker after years of decreasing sales and restricted success bring in younger riders to its renowned brand.
Harley’s board said Friday that director Jochen Zeitz would work as acting CEO and board chairman as it tries to find an irreversible chief executive. Mr. Zeitz will stay chairman when a brand-new chief executive is worked with, the business said.
