The procedure is supposed to be performed by Mets doctor David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Fla. But on Friday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Executive Order 20-72, which barred nonessential elective medical procedures across the state as local health officials continue to battle the growing coronavirus epidemic.
