Fasula composed that grocery store personnel estimated the worth of the food to be “well over $35,000”
” I am likewise definitely ill to my stomach about the loss of food,” Fasula composed. “While it is always a shame when food is wasted, in these times when many individuals are worried about the security of our food supply, it is a lot more troubling.”
In a statement recently in which Fasula announced workers at his 9 stores would receive an additional $1 an hour, he shared that some departments, including the meat and dairy sections, were lacking food as individuals hurried to stockpile in the midst of the pandemic.
Fasula stated his personnel “did the very best they might to get the woman out of the store as quick as possible” and get authorities on the scene. He added that the local district attorney’s office stated it will pursue charges against the woman.
