WASHINGTON– The government’s efforts to assist organisations recover from the coronavirus pandemic are activating waves of lobbying skirmishes, and among the biggest battles forming up pits dining establishments against the insurance market.
Restaurants and their allies are lobbying President Trump and Congress to push insurance companies to cover “organisation interruption” claims stemming from the coronavirus, even where dining establishments have policies that leave out losses from pandemics.
