J.C. Penney Co. prepares to completely close more than 240 outlet store, or almost 30%of its areas, as the retailer attempts to improve its service under chapter 11 bankruptcy security.
The 118- year-old company declared personal bankruptcy on Friday, becoming the most significant seller to look for court defense during the coronavirus pandemic. Neiman Marcus Group Inc., J.Crew Group Inc. and Stage Stores Inc. have all filed for insolvency this month.
