Dependence Industries unveiled a small pilot of JioMart deliveries in select areas of Mumbai in April, days after revealing that Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) would invest $5.7 B for 9.99%stake in Jio Platforms.
The business is now introducing an online grocery service by taking advantage of the 400 M-strong user base of Facebook-owned WhatsApp, challenging Amazon’s (NASDAQ: AMZN) regional system and Walmart’s (NYSE: WMT) Flipkart in more than 200 towns throughout India.
