U.K. to Require 14-Day Quarantine of Arrivals to Contain Coronavirus

LONDON– The U.K. federal government stated it would impose next month a 14- day self-quarantine requirement for almost all tourists arriving into the country, a tightening that comes as the rest of Europe gradually begins to reduce border limitations.

Britain has been among a small number of countries to leave their borders largely open throughout the Covid-19 crisis. With infection rates falling, the U.K. federal government argued that a quarantine would make it much easier to stop a new age of Covid-19 infections.
