3 McDonald’s workers taking legal action against business over racial discrimination by manager

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA)– Three employees of a Polk County McDonald’s are serving the fast-food chain with a civil rights suit.

The Black workers say the business has actually done nothing in action to the racial discrimination they have actually dealt with by their dining establishment’s general manager.

Monica Scott is one of the three workers filing the lawsuit and claims the basic supervisor at the McDonald’s situated at 5525 Walt Loop in Lakeland has actually created an unwelcoming environment for Black employees and consumers.

” She treats Black staff members more harshly and stated despiteful features of black people that made me feel like crying,” Scott stated.

We take these claims seriously and will review the grievance once it has been submitted and do something about it appropriately.”

Additionally, McDonald’s stated it supplies “lots of channels for employees to report principles, discrimination or human rights issues” such as an anonymous call line that is run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Scott stated it is time for the lunch counter chain to take responsibility.

” We’re demanding that McDonald’s programs us that Black employees matter and I hope this complaint forces the business to do simply that,” she stated.
