Meet Mychel “Snoop” Dillard: teen mama, business owner, 2 Chainz partner

  • Company Expert spoke to Dillard about her journey from teen mom to one of the most high-profile Black entrepreneurs in Atlanta. Dillard informed Business Insider that Escobar’s association with 2 Chainz brings good and bad attention, and the lounge recently came under fire for not following social distancing standards.
  • ” I’m very proud to be a Black organisation owner right now,” Dillard said, saying she’s felt extremely supported by her Black neighborhood, and she intends for her child to take over her organisation empire someday.

    In Atlanta, the most significant Snoop isn’t Snoop Dogg. It’s Mychel “Snoop” Dillard, a restaurateur and self-described “serial business owner” who’s well-known for Escobar, the lounge that she co-owns with 2 Chainz.

    Part of the appeal of Dillard’s facilities, in addition to the star shine of 2 Chainz’s part ownership, is Dillard and her playboy personality.

    In July, Dillard plans to host a “Playboy Mansion Pool Party” as “Snoop Hefner” with partially nude bartenders and a swimwear contest. The marketing for Escobar regularly features attractive women. And a current Instagram ad for “Sexy Saturdays” at Escobar markets “the sexiest atmosphere in Atlanta.”

    Dillard is often seen in elegant satin blazers, Givenchy baseball tees, or an intense red Burberry tracksuit that she’s particularly fond of. Her wrists and neck are constantly adorned with gold and diamonds. They’re markers of the success she’s accomplished as a business owner, and the aspirational lifestyle brand she’s developed along the way.

    ” A lot of people desire to be like her,” stated Bea Lewis, an Atlanta-based chef and entrepreneur who considers Dillard a coach.

    But life wasn’t constantly gold and glitter for Dillard. At 15, Dillard offered birth to a daughter she was required to give up to cultivate care for four years.

    Dillard grew up in a single-parent household.

    ” My dad was not truly included,” Dillard informed Business Insider in an interview.

    Then, at age 14, Dillard got pregnant, and at age 15, she offered birth to her child.

    ” It made me grow up rather rapidly,” Dillard stated.

    Following graduation, Dillard landed a task as a financial advisor for Ameriprise, which was then part of American Express. She said that the task taught her how to handle investments, realty, and insurance– all business skills she ‘d later on use to her entrepreneurship career. In the 2009 economic downturn, Dillard was laid off.

    Finding herself out of work, Dillard decided to dive headfirst into beginning her own services. She began Wet Dymes, a hot calendar organisation that ultimately blew over.     ” I always had this itch to return into promoting and owning my own restaurant,” Dillard said. So she opened The Hookah Hideaway.     ” When we initially opened the first two weeks, it was extremely hectic,” Dillard stated. Instead, she stated, individuals come for 2 Chainz– and for her.
