A Miami male is implicated of costs part of his Paycheck Protection Program loan on a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan, according to reports.

The Department of Justice accused David T. Hines, 29, of looking for $135 million in loans by writing fraudulent loan applications under the guise of numerous business, Fox 9 reported. Authorities stated he dropped $318,000 on the Italian cars and had $3.4 million in checking account.

The New York Times reported that Hines declared that he ran 4 companies with dozens of workers with about $4 million in monthly costs. The Times reported, mentioning authorities, that he pulled in three payments of $3.9 million.

” In the days and weeks following the disbursement of PPP funds, the problem alleges that Hines did not make payroll payments that he declared on his loan applications,” according to a DOJ statement. “He did, however, make purchases at high-end sellers and resorts in Miami Beach.”

Earlier this month, the government identified approximately 650,000 primarily small businesses and nonprofits that received taxpayer money through a federal program that was designed to soften task losses from the coronavirus but also benefited wealthy, well-connected companies and some celebrity-owned companies.
