Michael Cohen may have broken the terms of his jail release

The Post acquired images of Cohen consuming at Le Bilboquet with his wife, Laura, and another couple Thursday night.

Cohen was President Donald Trump’s previous attorney and fixer.

Cohen– who is serving a three-year sentence for tax evasion, bank scams, campaign-finance offenses, and lying to Congress– was launched on furlough from a federal prison camp in upstate New York at the end of May, over coronavirus issues.

Eating out appears to be a violation of the conditions of his release. According to a description of what furloughs involve on the Bureau of Prisons site, inmates on furlough need to not “leave the location of his/her furlough without authorization, except for traveling to the furlough destination, and going back to the institution.”

” A prisoner who violates the conditions of a furlough might be considered an escapee … and may be subject to prosecution and institution disciplinary action,” the file states.

Organisation Insider connected to both the Bureau of Prisons and Cohen’s lawyer, Jeffrey K. Levine, for comment early Saturday morning, but did not instantly get a reaction from either.

However, Levine spoke with the Post and defended Cohen’s dinner, stating his client “did not breach any of the conditions of his release … and any assertion or idea to the contrary would be completely incorrect and false.”

” It’s an opportunity to furloughed as an outcome of the coronavirus,” the unnamed legal representative stated.” His furlough needs to be revisited by the warden and it ought to be revoked.”
