SK Capital Partners is acquiring the specialty polymers business of Baker Hughes Co. in another private-equity carve-out involving a system of the oil field-services huge this year.
New York-based SK Capital was attracted to the polymer service by its production setup, technology and customers in the U.S. and Asian markets, said Mario Toukan, a managing director at the company. He added that polyethylene waxes made by the unit are used in a number of methods, consisting of in plastic additives and inkjet-printer inks.
