It’s official– Tesla’s fourth car factory, its 2nd in the US, will be in Austin, Texas.

CEO Elon Musk made the statement on Tesla’s second-quarter revenues call Wednesday after an intense bidding procedure that also involved Tulsa, Oklahoma, and other cities.

What is presently a concrete plant on a rural swath of land in the city’s southeast quadrant airport will soon be home to a 5 million-square-foot plant for Tesla’s Cybertruck, Semi truck, and Design 3 and Y.

However the choice wasn’t without debate, as with a lot of tasks undertaken by Tesla and Musk.

In Austin, Tesla will sign up with a large and entrenched cohort of state-of-the-art companies that began to flock to the location in the 1970 s led by Dell, IBM, and 3M.

Tesla’s market assessment continues to escalate as the business gradually ramps up yearly production.

Oklahoma authorities, while dissatisfied to not win the factory, stated they were looking forward to supporting Tesla providers offered the state’s close relationship with Texas.
