President Donald Trump’s niece who’s writing a tell-all book about their household is attempting to raise a restraining order over the memoir’s publication, saying she was deceived by a non-disclosure agreement from almost 20 years back.
Attorneys for Mary Trump filed an affidavit in her ongoing legal case over the book on Thursday, in which they argue that the non-disclosure contract was based on deceitful financial info, and that Mary Trump didn’t understand it would ultimately keep her from composing a narrative, according to the Daily Monster
Previously today, a judge temporarily banned Mary Trump from releasing “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Household Developed the World’s Many Hazardous Guy,” which is set to be released on July 29.
The ban was put in place after Robert Trump– Donald Trump’s bro and Mary Trump’s uncle– claimed Mary had broken a nondisclosure arrangement by writing the book.
In the recent court filings, Mary Trump argues that she thought the privacy contract she had actually signed was unenforceable.
Mary Trump had actually signed the arrangement in early 2001 tied to an inheritance dispute over her grandfather’s will.
In her current affidavit, Mary Trump’s attorneys state that she believed the possessions in the will were precise at the time of finalizing, but later discovered they were deceptive through a New York Times expose, according to The Daily Beast.
She also states, according to the affidavit seen by the Daily Beast, that she didn’t understand the non-disclosure agreement would prohibit her from writing a book about her life.
” None of the celebrations to the Settlement Contract, including my uncles Donald Trump and Robert Trump, or my aunt Maryanne Trump, has actually ever sought my consent to speak openly about our household or their personal relationships with me, my brother Fred, or amongst each other,” she composed.
