A Cowen study found that more than a 3rd of high net worth individuals would be interested in spending for a Virgin Galactic flight, providing a sense of the need for the company’s area tourism service once it starts flying clients next year.
” Cowen’s exclusive study highlights a high level of interest amongst high-net-worth individuals to fly to area at a ticket rate of $250 k or above,” analyst Oliver Chen said in a note to financiers on Monday.
The company approximated that Virgin Galactic’s suborbital flights have a total addressable market of about 2.4 million people, among people with a net worth of more than $5 million. Of those individuals, Cowen’s study discovered that about 39%have an interest in paying a minimum of $250,000 for a ticket.
