United Airlines Holdings Inc. on Wednesday stated it prepares to cut 16,370 staff as part of efforts to halve its domestic labor force in the middle of a pandemic-driven downturn in passenger need.
The cuts, which are involuntary furloughs– meaning workers can be called back if need resumes– are brief of the 36,000 possible job losses the airline in July cautioned were possible.
