- The United States Small Service Administration on Monday launched a chest of loan data from the $530 billion doled out to business from the Paycheck Protection Program.
- Company Expert evaluated all 4.8 million records from the program to see how it has impacted small companies.
- These 25 markets saw the most tasks retained thanks to a PPP loan.
The US Small Company Administration on Monday released a chest of loan information from the $670 billion Income Security Program.
While the majority of the attention was immediately captured by the wide array of organisations determined in the list of loans higher than $150,000, a Business Expert analysis of all 4.8 million records from the program paints an image of the PPP’s effect on small companies and the United States economy. The program has lent $530 billion to companies, and Congress voted to extend it through August 8 to use the remainder of the funds.
Since the specified objective of the program was to protect employment, we took a look at the number of jobs were maintained in various industries to see how the program was unfolding throughout the United States economy.
We combined every record from the SBA into one massive table, which we cross-referenced with industry category codes to highlight those where the most tasks were maintained thanks to a PPP loan.
Unsurprisingly, the dining establishment market saw the best impact from the PPP, with about one food-service task conserved for every eight from any other industry in the program. Restaurants also outmatched the next-largest industries on our list– doctor’s offices, building-equipment contractors, and religious companies– by a wide margin.
