A limited amount of red and yellow onions cost Trader Joe’s and Ralphs grocery chains in the West are being recalled in relation to a continuous salmonella outbreak, Progressive Produce stated Monday.
Thomson International Inc., the California business recognized by the Fda as the most likely source of the break out, provided impacted onions to Progressive Produce, the business stated.
Progressive Produce stated that the recalled onions are generally offered loose in bulk bins and that its red onions bear a PLU sticker with the name Pacific Gold.
The business stated the remembered red onions were cost Trader Joe’s locations in Arizona, California, Utah and Nevada. The impacted yellow onions were offered just in California at Ralphs shops.
No other produce offered by Progressive Produce has been remembered.
The Centers for Disease Control and Avoidance states that Salmonella Newport has sickened 640 people and sent 85 to the medical facility.
