U.S. stocks edged a little higher Wednesday, a day after the S&P 500 set its very first record close given that February, despite stalled negotiations over more coronavirus aid and rising stress between Washington and Beijing.
The S&P 500 inched up less than 0.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.4%. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite fell 0.1%.
